LIVING LANDS & WATERS:  A portion of the proceeds from each Dirty Duo entry will go to Living Lands & Waters, a non-profit organization that aids in the protection, preservation and restoration of the natural environment of the nation's major rivers and their watersheds, by cleaning up the rivers, one at a time. Read the excerpt below about LL&W’s founder Chad Pregracke:

“As a high school student and mussel diver in East Moline, Illinois, Chad Pregracke loved the natural world but loathed the garbage that blighted the river. So, he decided to do something about it. With a manner as straightforward as his message, Chad turned a one-man river cleanup into a national crusade known as Living Lands & Waters, with corporate sponsors like Alcoa, Anheuser-Busch, Cargill and numerous barge companies. In ten years he has wrestled millions of pounds of trash from our nation's waterways. Today the nonprofit has a fleet of barges and workboats that have engaged in thousands of volunteers in river cleanups throughout the United States.”
