THE FIRST 300 RACERS THAT CHECK IN AT DYNAMIC EARTH ON FRIDAY HAVE A CHANCE AT WINNING A GIFT CARD TO THE DYNAMIC EARTH STORE!
That's right, Dynamic Earth is randomly giving away gift cards to racers that check in on Friday night. Gift cards will range anywhere from $5 to $50 and there will be over $1000 in gift cards handed out to racers that check-in on Friday! Not only can you save yourself a bunch of time (by NOT standing in line on Saturday morning before the race), but you could also win a gift card to the store! In addition to that, all racers will be receiving a coupon to Dynamic Earth. There's nothing better than waking up on race morning with the peace of mind of knowing that you are already checked-in for the race. Sleep in a little. Take it easy and have a little breakfast. Relax a little on race morning by checking your team in on Friday at Dynamic Earth, and there is a pretty decent chance that you might win one of the gift cards also!

Racer check-in will also be available at Kansas Speedway on Saturday morning before the race from 6:30-7:30AM. If you are checking in to the race on Saturday morning, you may want to arrive right at 6:30AM to make sure that you have time to get checked in!

ALL participants will be required to check-in TOGETHER! We will not allow one team member to check in for the entire team and we will not allow team members to check in separately, so please plan accordingly.

All racers will need to sign a waiver before you are able to race. If you are under the age of 18 on race day, you will need a parent's or legal guardian's signature on the waiver in addition to your own signature. Please print the waiver here and bring it with you to racer check-in in order to speed up the process. Thanks!

Dirty Duo JR racer check-in will take place at the same times as Dirty Duo racers and will also be open at the Kansas Speedway from 9:00AM - 9:30AM on race morning. ALL Dirty Duo JR racers will need their parent's or legal guardian's signature on their waiver in order for them to race. Dirty Duo JR racers should print out the wiaver (above) and bring it with them to check-in as well. Dirty Duo JR racers DO NOT need to be present at racer check-in, but a parent or legal guardian needs to check-in for them if they are not present.

HELMETS:
Remember, BOTH team members MUST be wearing a helmet at all times during the race!! Due to safety reasons of completing the obstacles and biking, please make sure that BOTH racers have a helmet on for the duration of the event. Any team member that is not wearing a helmet at any point during the race will be disqualified. Also, timing chips will be attached to one of the team member's helmets.

JEWELRY:
Please make sure that you remove all jewelery before the start of the race. Two years ago a lady lost an engagement ring in the mud pit. Her and her fiancee spent FOUR FULL DAYS (including taking vacation days from work) digging in the mud pit trying to find the ring. We were out there while they were both digging (with a metal detector), and please take us seriously when we say you don't want to dig through three dump trucks worth of dirt.

BEST COSTUME CONTEST:
Once again, the Dirty Duo will feature a best costume contest! The best costume contest will be judged by a separate panel of judges located throughout the course. Each racer on the winning team will receive a prize AND a free entry into the 2012 Dirty Duo race!

WHAT TO BRING FOR AFTER THE RACE:
It is recommended that all racers bring at least a towel, an extra pair of clothes, socks and shoes to change into after the race. We will have wash off stations for all racers to wash off after crossing the finish line. You're more than welcome to bring a chair or blanket to sit on and enjoy some food, drinks and music after the race and watch the awards ceremony, socialize with friends, and best of all...watch the Dirty Duo JR racers! It's a lot of fun watching the kids.

WEATHER:
The Dirty Duo will be taking place rain or shine! If there is lightning in the area, or severe weather of any kind, then the race will be delayed, 30 minutes at a time, until the weather is more favorable to racing. Please keep an eye on the weather forecast as the race gets closer and make sure that you dress accordingly.

WATER:
All racers are required to have some sort of water or sports drink with you during the race. We highly recommend having a water bottle or two on your bike. We will provide water at a couple of transition areas during the race, as well as at the Race Finish. Please make sure you drink plenty of water the day before the race and the morning of the race so you don't get dehydrated while racing.

In an effort to try and make our races more eco-friendly, we ask that you bring a cup or water bottle with you to drink out of after the race so we can cut down on paper and plastic cup waste. We will have cups available if needed, but if you could bring one to the race instead of using our disposable cups we could all feel better about reducing the amount of trash that we generate. Thanks!

START TIME:
The Dirty Duo will start at 8AM. The race will be starting in waves with the all-male and clydesdale teams starting first, then the co-ed teams and then the female, masters and parent/kid teams. Each wave will start about 10 to 15 minutes after the wave in front of them. The Dirty Duo JR will start around 10:30AM.

PRE-RACE BRIEFING:
There will be a quick pre-race briefing at 7:45AM before the race. We will go over some rules for the event, quick reminders and answer any last minute questions that you may have. Please make sure that you are at the race and ready to go by 7:45AM for the briefing.

PRIZES AND AWARDS CEREMONY:
Prizes will be awarded to the top two teams in each division. The awards ceremony will take place after the Dirty Duo JR, and all teams must be present in order to receive their prizes. Clydesdale teams...you will be weighed at the awards ceremony and both racers must be over 200lbs. If you think it's going to be close, you might want to bring some extra food with you. If a team that is eligible to receive a prize is not at the awards ceremony, then the prize will roll down to the next team in line. The team with the best costume will also be announced at the awards ceremony. Everyone is encouraged to attend the awards ceremony to congratulate the winning teams.

DIRTY DUO JR:
Even if you don't have a kid (or know a kid) in the Dirty Duo JR, please stick around and cheer these kids on! The Dirty Duo JR is going to be a lot of fun and we currently have about 70 kids between the ages of 5 - 10 to come out and race! The Dirty Duo JR will start around 10:30AM. Please make sure that all Dirty Duo JR racers are there and ready to go no later than 9:30AM Saturday morning. We will have a quick briefing for all the kids before the start of the one mile race. Dirty Duo JR teams will be completing an obstacle every 1/4 mile for a total of 4 obstacles, which includes the mud pit at the finish.

POST-RACE FOOD & DRINK:
We will be cooking hot dogs for all racers after the race, and each racer will receive a ticket in their racer bag that is good for two hot dogs. We are providing all-beef hot dogs. If you check-in to the race on Friday, please remember to bring your ticket with you to the race! We will not give out extra tickets if you leave it at home. We should have some extra "dogs" available even if every racers gets their two. If you would like more than just the two hot dogs that we will be providing, you are welcome to buy extras for $1. This extra money raised will be added to our original contributions and going directly to our great charities.

Thanks to Kuat Racks, all racers over the age of 21 will be able to enjoy some adult beverages after the race. Please make sure you bring your ID with you to the race if you would like to drink alcoholic beverages! No ID = no beer for you! Also, while you're there, don't forget to thank Kuat Racks for the free beer and for sponsoring the event. Their bike racks are top-of-the-line and they hands down make the best hitch racks on the market. To learn more about Kuat Racks, please visit http://www.kuatracks.com. It's all about the Rack Love.

We will have water and sports drinks available for all racers after the race. If you would like something other than that, make sure you bring it with you.

VOLUNTEERS:
We could always use some more volunteers at the Dirty Duo! If you have family or friends that would like to help out at the race, please have them contact us or just fill out the Volunteer form on the website. Thanks!

MUD PIT:
The mud pit will be 20 feet wide by 40 feet long and will have over 30 tons (three dump trucks) of pulverized top soil in it that has been doused for two full days by a fire hose attached to a fire hydrant. There will be a staging area before you reach the mud pit in which you will have to wait on your team mate to catch up to you. Both team members must crawl through the mud pit at the same time before crossing the finish line. You must crawl ON YOUR BELLY through the mud pit. When you arrive at the mud pit, please just step over the edge to enter The Pit. No jumping. No diving. No back flips. No full or half gainers. No cannon balls or can openers. And definitely no belly flops. Just step over the edge to enter the mud pit. Thanks.

COURSE:
The Dirty Duo course is approximately 6 miles long. We will have the course marked well and you should know exactly where to go during the race. However, we ask that your team looks over the course and becomes familiar with it before the event. View the course here.

GOOD TIMES:
The Dirty Duo, while it is a race, it's more about having good times with friends and family and meeting some like-minded people that like to get out and have some fun. Please come mentally and physically prepared to get muddy, wet, sweaty and have some fun!! We're looking forward to seeing you all this weekend and please drive carefully!
